Power Conversation featured in Newsletter

This is like a confessional.
I was considering wealth, and what that feels like inside. I saw a fear of abusing power. As I kept looking, I saw the trappings of winning and losing, of competition and sabotage, I heard a voice, that quote, “with great power comes great responsibility”.

Those weren’t my words, but perhaps that’s where the fear was. Proof that second hand material can be misleading. What’s real power? Responsible to what? If I am really empowered I am clear about what I’m responsible to. The last thing I would want is to create dependency, and attachments to others. It dawned on me that as I truly step in to teaching that I would not want to create interdependence in any way, but  an inter relating where we share and celebrate gifts and talents. I was a healthy competitor when I played sports. Playing for the sport of it, not for myself.

What I began to sense was not about personal power, but creating an empowered atmosphere. This would help clarify intent. Understanding ones motivation and the ability to communicate it directly is key. All you can really own is your intent, your motivation. You can’t even own ideas. As an idea is born to you it’s already “out there”.  The wrong perspective of power wants to collect, own, and bully. The tower reminding me once again that letting go gets easier as you know yourself, as you truly face yourself, and you commit to being responsible. You stop clutching. You can let go. Why hold on? I am also reminded that I’ve been clearing a lot of stuff out again, and have seen family heirlooms in a new light. I’ll say I’m less attached. I remember when my mother didn’t want to be the custodian anymore. On retrospect things can be a burden.

That original quote is backwards, and so is society. Perhaps it was relevant once upon a time. Power is not a station you inherit, but a state of being you earn through experience.

New quote
“With great responsibility comes great power.” It’s an inside job first. So is true wealth.

My mission
To create an empowered atmosphere whereby personal truth and intent are made clear.

I just recently finished the Power Journal. It’s the misfits guide from pdf to physical form. It’s awesome. I’ve been doing it myself for final edits, mostly I’m using it to help me launch it! Well, it’s working. The way I go about this inner exploration is the undercurrent of the Power Journal.

I have come to this perspective. Individuals are a space for power, they can cause it. If someone is truly powerful, they command it. They own themselves. That cannot be taken away.

2014- Best clearing finds: Peruvian Florida water & hydrogen peroxide

Peruvian Florida water: Simply the best. Much more pure than what is sold at the bodegas here. Thanks to a visiting shaman, I discovered it and bought it through shamansmarket.com

I diluted it in a spray bottle with water, and sprayed an entire carpet with it. The cats now smell like it. Bonus!

Hydrogen Peroxide- store bought 3%.. Clears and makes things shine. It restores things to their natural glow. After literally clearing so many things from stones to metal, I researched hydorgen peroxide uses and read everything I’ve found. I’ve since bought food grade and am using it. It’s an amazing curative. This is something you must educate yourself about. I will be sure to write about my findings after I’ve used it for 3 months.

So it’s been a little more than 3 months (it’s january 4th 2015), and I have been using the food grade hydrogen peroxide. I start with food grade 35% hydrogen peroxide and dilute it with distilled water until it’s a 3% solution. 35% would burn your skin. 90% hydrogen peroxide is rocket fuel! You can’t fuck around with this stuff, or use it casually. Basically it’s oxygen therapy. This is folk medicine at its finest. It’s too involved for me to expound upon. I do use it daily, in many different ways. If you are interested I can lead you to how to find more information for yourself.

Both of these products rate on top with Thieves essential oil blend. All a must in my toolbox.

2014 best home finds: Cleansing with oil

Have you heard of it?

Cleansing oil with oil. Leaves the face feeling amazing and balanced.  No matter what skin type, you can achieve balance by using oil.

Castor oil is a part of each regime, and the carrier oil differs with skin type. I use  1/3 Castor Oil to 2/3 Jojoba oil. There are many websites that have different oil combinations. You take the oil and rub it in using upward strokes. Let it set a few, then I use a beauty cotton pad which I drench in very warm water to gently press and wipe my face.  I do this before going to bed. Voila!

Putting two things together that don’t go: Conflict

Hello Hello Hello

I had an epiphany, an aha. I was troubled and I looked at it. I saw that I was rushing, and I caught it. What was I really in a hurry for? The thought was, “I didn’t make enough money tonight to stay this long and close up.”  Ahh. Well that may be valid in valuing my time, but not my energy. Then I thought if I had made money would I still be rushing. Likely. I see that we put things together, justify and defend things in this way. Make something mean something. It’s a trap. So, I wanted to be done, but it’s up to me to have quantitative moments. That’s like saying, now it sucks, but it will be better. There’s no better out there. The better can only be now. There’s no tomorrow, if right now I can’t be right now. Tomorrow will be a log jam from here. Conflict.

I’m declaring,  ” I will not be manipulated to make something mean something!” Everyone’s personal insanity. Dig in deeply enough and you can find what you’ve put together that gives you strife.

It’s Tower time

One of my favorite stories of all time.  The champion, Seabiscuit, who finally found his stride. It took an unlikely team of misfits who came together and understood this amazing horse with the big heart.

Have you seen a race horse at the starting gate who’s being held up? Have you seen how crazy they get? Do you ever feel like that? What’s the hold up? Where what you really want to do is fly! Together we are going to identify this. It’s time to let go.

I agree with a Zen way to get anywhere. Be simple, focused, and direct. The way of the profound is simplicity.

There is a call on Monday May 19th, at 7 p.m where letting go is the topic.

So, instead of going through a lot of hoops, the focus on this whole year is the Tower,  of letting go. Turning away, literally ignoring what doesn’t work. Pleading indifference to that which has been a struggle. Actually being uninterested in anything and everything that sucks energy away from what we are, what we want, and what will serve.

That’s the focus. Next is the Star, with a multitude of beatific showers of esteem, power, and love. It’s the abundance of a river with a clear direction and a velocity from the high.

The Tower

A personal tower story:
Snake oil. For me snake oil, is selling a promise, not an actual thing.
I, Andrea Rich solemly swear that I will not entrust my resources to any promises. Just because they worked for someone else doesn’t mean they will work for me, and my experience has been they never have. What has worked for me: buying a house, selling a house. Creating a product, selling a product. Someone believing in me and investing in me with clear and absolute understandable terms.

There is a business coach out there, Ramit Sethi who I’ve followed for awhile. He used to never sell to anyone who was having a problem paying their credit cards. Then a business coaching system came along that had such an amazing sell, that I chose it over Ramit.  I said yes, to their lofty promise. “you will be making 10,000 by July, I guarantee it.” It really wasn’t the right fit for me. I truly wanted a one on one business coach, yet signed onto the program, which included a little one on one. When I didn’t become a star pupil the business coach who I had worked with for a year showed little interest in talking to me beyond just wanting to sign me up for another year. They had their money.  Hard, expensive lesson for me. I am starting to get it. It’s freeing. I still follow Ramit on-line. He’s one of the few I’ve kept in my inbox. How funny. If only I had listened to Lulu, as she was hot on Ramit, and I was hot on the other. Whoa.

This is precisely why everyone has to find their own way. Know what you are looking for. This is also why I never make any promises. I am an educator in self reliance.
