The Power of Visualization

by Administrator on April 1, 2009

The following Zen story illustrates third eye visioning in action. A master craftsman in ancient China was commissioned by the emperor to make a cabinet for the emperor’s bedroom in the Imperial Palace. The craftsman, a Zen monk, told the emperor he would not be able to begin work for five days. The monk was seen by the emperor’s spies simply sitting, apparently doing nothing for the entire time. Then, when five days had passed, the monk got up. Within three days, he had made the most extraordinary cabinet anyone had ever seen. The emperor was so pleased and so curious that he had the monk brought before him and asked what he had been doing the five days before he had begun his work. And this is what the monk said

  1. All the first day I spent releasing every thought of fear or failure, of dread of punishment if my work should displease the emperor.
  2. All the second day I spent releasing every thought of inadequacy and every belief that I might lack the skill to produce a cabinet worthy of the emperor.
  3. All the third day, I spent releasing every hope and desire for fame, glory and reward if I should produce a cabinet that would please the emperor
  4. All the fourth day, I spent releasing the pride that might arise in me if I should succeed in my task and earn the praise of the emperor.
  5. And all the fifth day, I spent beholding in the mind the clear vision of that cabinet which I knew even an emperor would desire, which now stands before you.

MYOB: Self Care Act

In the guide we go into scheduling 3 things in 3 weeks that nourish you. You’ll do 1! It works. How about making an appointment for something kinda big that you want to do for yourself within 3 months? I just did that. I scheduled a saltwater floatation in May. In honor of my birthday. It feels great to do it. As you help yourself others benefit. People in the service business love to put something in their books in the future. It sets the tone.

Decide!

~To decide is the way of the intellect~

STAY with me!!!…

The runaway train of thoughts, images, and feelings, leaving us everywhere and nowhere. So old and crazy making. That’s the world following the unstable mind. But the intellect, a finely tuned instrument, the lab of analysis turns toward awareness. We harness here, we position and prepare our deepest desires to bring them to light.

It takes tremendous discipline, it takes tremendous courage to think for yourself, to examine yourself. – Dr Cornel West

Let’s focus here on making a decision from the deepest place in our being. I truly believe that this is where it’s at. This is when a life worth living starts. This makes sense. The teaching that there is a river of destiny, that our life is mapped out. We become mistaken thinking our little decisions and actions really change the true course of our lives. These little decisions simply accelerate or delay desired outcome.

Finally!!! A decision is made as though our life depends on it. I live for that. That is something to be passionate about. Heart and intellect in concert like a laser beam. The resolute heart and intellect have come together with purpose clearly bringing destiny into focus, not just flailing about. We feel like we are changing the course of our lives, because we are. We are finally in the river, propelled by a powerful decision, instead of holding on to the shore of doubt.

My Program is kick ass

SSSSOOOOOOOO I have been doing my own program, and it is kicking my ass. Wooo. Hooo.

<Dominic the Donkey Says:>

It’s truly a must have manual. For anyone who who is so familiar with working on yourself, this pulls it together. Go here.

MYOB Monday: how’s your sleep?

I have quite a checklist as to what informs me regarding my environment.

This feels potent: The direction you sleep. Head at the South, feet at the North. This is encouraged due to the magnetic pulls on the planet. Energy collects in the Northeast direction of ones home.

If any energy feels off, start here.

Fridays, day to recap and celebrate

So much of our time is preparation, so much is routine, and so much retrospect, that the path of a man’s genius contracts itself to a very few hours. –Ralph Waldo Emerson

Interested in traditional medicine? Folk medicine is seen as alternative, even though it’s older and stores great wisdom. We are going to look at Friday. Once upon a time, days of the week were thought of in relation to their governing planets. Friday is the day of Venus. We think of her as love, and in astrology she governs wealth in ones chart.

Here’s some lore to set yourself up for success: Get up between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. on Friday, meditate, pray, give thanks to the Goddess Lakshmi to enhance wealth.

In the tarot I equate Lakshmi with the Wheel of Fortune, so putting this into my own language… Do what ever you can to center yourself, clear yourself to be prepared for success and opportunities.

Why this? Who hasn’t had the experience of not being ready for a golden opportunity that has come knocking?

Use Friday, or any other day, just make sure you take time to do it, and clear yourself out. Complete with things and with strong intentions prepare yourself. What’s the saying about luck? Luck favors the prepared. Fortune favors the prepared mind.

Clear your own space with intention by recapping your week. Complete wherever you can. Consider what you want. You are removing anything in your thought process that is in the way of this. Free up for the weekend, and the week ahead. See what needs your attention. Then celebrate successes of the week. It’s all about the celebration.

Mind your own business Monday: Is a Misfit another name for an Empath?

Unless you have found your natural inclination, your life is going to be a long, long tragedy, from cradle to the grave. The only people who have been blissful in the world are the people who have lived according to their own intuition and have rebelled against any effort by others to impose their ideas. Howsoever valuable those ideas may be, they are useless because they are not yours. The only significant idea is that which arises in you, grows in you, blossoms in you. ~Osho

I believe this to be truth, although a little harsh it is certainly a good kick in the pants. We take nothing with us but this very thing Osho is talking of.

I do think the empath is the the misfit. Feeling things ever so strongly and acutely, the misfit gets bombarded. So many deeds done on this planet that are despicable, a misfit would never dream of that. Who would torture anything? The misfit has been so busy torturing his or herself!

If you are totally down with that last line, this is your life. I declare it’s time fly free, and be truly loving to you.

Why is bullying so strongly in the foreground?  We’ve all been imposing. Endlessly offering advice, and endlessly bombarded. Sometimes it’s been the only way to feel in control. It’s clear that a bully is insecure, and it seems that finally following the crowd is losing its charm. You can’t watch a show anymore where the celeb isn’t saying, just be yourself. It’s actually trendy now to be yourself, however that is. Hilarious really. We ride the tides of the collective, as well as our own personal rhythms. Its’ a lot to manage!

Imposing is a big bad stinky habit. It demonstrates a lack of trust. It’s got to stop. We don’t know the biggest picture. We are always being guided to take care of our own business. That’s enough, isn’t it? It should be good news.

My whole platform now is built on personal experience.  I encourage from this fertile ground. Brush all the webs of interference away, and reveal your sculpture. It’s interesting, it’s unique, and it’s based on your trials and your understandings.  I want us all to come out of hiding, and I feel this year has all the necessary support to do so. One of the big problems facing us all is we have turned away from the very thing that we’ve been looking for.

What is that? I believe it has everything to do with where our superpowers reside. ooh la la.

Until next time….

2014: Your personal philosophy in motion..

Chinese New Year- The green wood horse is on Friday, January 31st. Let’s celebrate!

Clear your stuff the month of February! From the 6th to the 28th mercury is retrograde. If you are in the 22 day program, Wednesday the 5th is the last day, and places you perfectly in the position to seize the creative force of mercury bobbling backwards. One of its potent energies is to finish up things that have been previously started. Optimize theses powers and use February wisely.

Then you are ready for spring.

The power of 3

Essential to understand this. There are fundamentally 3 things that the world perspective will always be in tune with. Creation, preservation, and destruction.  Beginning, middle, and end. Get up, have your day, go to bed. Idea, execute, done with it. Show up, do your job, leave. Born, live, die. Notice when an actor recites a list, or they are looking for something. It will be the third one.

I will look at people’s lists. The top 5 ya de ya. The 8 things you need to know. You can always put those list of 5 or 8 into 3 categories. The only one that defies this a little bit is the 4 agreements. I will say, I generally can only remember 3 of them at a time though.  That’s my point! It’s natural to process in this way.

I give myself a checklist so my ego won’t screw things up and co-opt my experience. Which means, if I’m teaching something, before declaring that I’m finished, I pass it by a checklist of 3 things before I am satisfied.

I watched a documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright, and it was interesting to hear how his most famous home, Falling Waters, came to be. The story goes that Wright looked at the blueprints of the land for 3 months. It appeared to his interns that he was doing nothing. Finally, Kaufman, the owner, called him to say he was in town and wanted to come by. Wright told him that they were expecting him. In 3 hours he drew up the plans that were to become Falling Waters. He knew every inch of the landscape from studying the blueprints.

3 again and again. 3 weeks is the length of this new program. Chinese medicine understands it takes 3 weeks to break a habit. We can go on and on. 3 meals a day. Plays are written in 3 acts. I can give a full spread tarot reading, and I can also do a 3 card spread. They are completely satisfying and life changing. The Misfits Guide to East West Living: Minding Your Own Business, a 3 week program; it has 3 acts. Completion, Motivation, and Be the Art.

See you there!
